Kodi 18.5 startup crash -> Dll Initializing - SFTP support
#1
So, out of the blue Kodi started to crash during the startup.

Cache has been deleted, no new addons have been added in past few days, no Kodi or Android updates were installed so i dont have a clue what went wrong.

Here is the part of the log with error: https://paste.kodi.tv/focuvicife.kodi

So i found out that yesterday vfs sftp auto updated to version 1.0.4, and it appears to be broken.

So, i have deleted Addons27.db from /.kodi/userdata/Database/ and managed to start Kodi with almost every addon disabled. This gave me opportunity to delete faulty vfs sftp addon, and after that i enabled all other addons, and voila, everything works.

Well, except sftp, we have to wait for the issue to be resolved.

There are a couple of links that I posted in the other thread that will allow you to install the older version to get it all back working. There is a fix in the works https://github.com/xbmc/vfs.sftp/pull/49

I got hit by this too, on a Sony Android tv.  Was dreading having to do a full reinstall/rescan but managed to fix it without too much drama.  Here's how -> https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2915367
Just don't use SFTP again until this is fixed.

Would be nice to have a Kodi feature where if a crash is detected the next startup gave a popup option to start with addons disabled.  This is the second time I've had an official addon disable Kodi.
