Is it correct that no my5 android app is available on any of the large commercial box platforms, or roku, or smart tv? It is a web-only service?
I started examining the web version of the service, and an inputstream style add-on should be possible. The sad news is that the maximum quality of any content is 1500k 468p.
Also, they use e2e communications (non-plain-text) for the video source urls, with various signatures and whatnot.
It hardly seems worth it with such low quality, but what else have I got to do during the virus plague?

I wouldn't necessarily need to investigate the app (or any other platforms besides the web) unless one of those app(s) or platform(s) offers HD or any higher quality than 1500k 468p.
If all platforms have a maximum quality of 1500k 468p (which is usually ≈500MB for a ≈42 minute program), then the web desktop information is probably enough.

(This post was last modified: 2020-05-14, 05:57 by toejam.)
The api url that grabs the video source urls has "desktop" within the url. I replaced it with "samsung" and got this;
{"code":"4003","message":"A client certificate issued by '' was presented that does not match the configured Certificate Regex."}
If I replace "desktop" or "samsung" with other values, "no app found" is returned.
So, the "samsung" parameter is probably correct, but the my5/milkshake app on the samsung platform must contain a custom certificate on the device, in order to even request the source video urls.
Someone with the my5 samsung app would have to log the network traffic to see if the HD video source urls would be of any use.
At this point I will proceed with just the non-HD sources.

It would be great to have All4 and My5 running again
Dont know why they keep changing names and move to a different platform
iPlayer and ITVPlayer plugins for Kodi still going strong

I'd like to also reissue a request for these apps – my partner in particular is annoyed at All4 not working and I'm sure the community could do an excellent job of encapsulating them. I think they just are both "bog standard" Widevine & JWPlayer but with a lot of web gunk around it.
I'm running Kodi on a RPi4 -- irritatingly the DRM on the web interface is so bloody intensive that it overheats if using a browser to watch it. Widevine, how much I hate thee: let me count the ways…

Just in case anyone else needs UK channel4 and my5, it seems that as QianyuLi posted above Catch up TV and More is the way to go. There is one gotcha though, the version in the official Kodi add-on repos is too old, you need the beta version from their own repo.

I've got Kodi and the 'Catch up TV and More' add-on working and it seems to be okay, but I can't find the individual episodes of the My5 show I was wanting to watch.
The add-on has the show listed under the incorrect name of "Susan Calman's Summer Holiday", but there only seems to be one episode. Does anyone know how to get it to show the other episodes and/or the correct name ("Susan Calman's Summer by the Sea")? Other episodes are available on the My5 website.
