kricker.. any chance for excluding keyboard.xml from your "xbmc updater" files? or maybe better the complete new keymaps directory, others might have modified other files than me.

since the devs decided to move from keymap.xml to several files in the keymaps dir, every time i use the update feature i have to manually readd my keyboard.xml because it gets overwritten.

thx for reading.

according to the change note (r21442) you should be fine if you move your custom keymap file into profile/keymaps.
Didn't test it though.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

Check that and get back to me if something still needs attention. I don't always keep up with what has happened on trac, so this multi-file keymap thingy you mentioned is news to me. I assume there is a thread about this change somewhere....

ok, i've managed how to do it, and there is no action needed on your side.

once one is able to realize that "profile/keymaps" is meant to be special://profile/keymaps, he can store his modified keymappings in there, which will be loaded after the default ones and won't be overwritten by the updates.
