Experimental HD Audio (inc Atmos) bit streaming support on Raspberry Pi 4B
#1
In case people don't visit the LibreElec forum regularly - the first test build with HD Audio bitstream / passthrough support has been released.  This is reported to support Atmos.

The HD Audio output apparently only works for HD (1080p and below) output, and 4K output is not yet supported with HD Audio. Also h.264 is software decoded at the moment.  But a major step forward.

That's good to hear. I can't wait to test it when I'm back near an HD-audio friendly AVR again.

No. HD audio passthrough requires the new open-source KMS driver which is still under heavy development and not feature-complete yet.

so long,
