url address shortener for a playlist
#1
Hi, i tried the URL for M3U playlist shortened, but the client can not retrieve it. Is it possible to use a url address shortener for a playlist? This shortened address works OK in vlc player. The original playlist address has the format: http://user: [email protected]/something_long/playlist.m3u . The shortened address has the format: http://sho.rt/xswed
i did this for epg xml and there it works fine with shortened url address. However, there is no login information in the url address, so the address format is common.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, I have the same problem. I create my m3u playlist from my enigma 2 box.
My http is: http: // user: password @ mypublicIP: webIFport / filelocationonserver / playlist.m3u
When I paste it into web browsver link works ... (can download playlist.m3u)
When I paste it to IPTV Simple Client in KODI then it doesn't work (0 chanels loaded). But I dont know why? Too when I use other web storage eg: http://webpage.xxx/filelocationonserver/playlist.m3u all is work.
Only dont work when I use in URL in IPTV Simple Client with authentication. WHY?
Maybe wrong http format with authentication? Does anyone know what the authentication format looks like?
Thanks

Do you have a debug log for it failing?

And do you really need a shortener? It cannot be secure if it’s an externally hosted service over http. You are pretty much just giving them your login details.

I dont use shortener. I use my static public IP. I dont have debug log. I must look how can I create it.

Then you should create a new thread as it’s unrelated to this thread.

Also, if you have an Enigma2 STB why not use the Enigma2 addon. The native experience would be much better.
