Hi all:

I have all my media stored on a desktop running Linux mint.
I've been trying to add my media to kodi but so far I couldn'tCsn someone please give me a hand ??
I tried everything, SMB , NFS....
It was so easy with Plex , I don't understand.

What is Kodi running on?
Is your media local to the Kodi instance or on a different machine?

Kodi is running on my Nvidia shield.
Media as I said is stored on my desktop running Linux mint.

Right.  Have you set up any sharing for your media then, eg samba or NFS shares?

No I didn't.
Do I need to install samba ??

Either that or NFS.  But yeah, you need to make your media available on your LAN else Kodi on the shield won't be able to see it.
