Mouse unable to move when using Kodi 19.3 with MacOS Monterey version RC2
#1
Hi,

I currently using MacOS 12 Monterey version RC2(version 12.0.1) and having issues with Kodi version 19.1 to 19.3.
That the mouse can response properly.

There seems to be buggy running kodi with MacOS 12.

I'm having the same issue where the mouse pointer will not go all the way to the right side of the screen when in info wall view. It's not consistent and will work then not. Can always use the arrow buttons on the keyboard to select the farthest right movie, but not the mouse. System is MacMini (M1) running Monterey release, Kodi 19.3

Did not have the issue with Big Sur running Kodi 18.7,  upgraded to MasOS Monterey and the mouse issue appeared with Kodi 18.7.  I upgraded Kodi to 19.3 to see if that fixed it but still had the problem.

Same problems occurs with Kodi version 18.9 with Monterey as the mouse cannot go to the right. This is confirmed. I am currently using Monterey version 12.1.

FYI, I experienced the same mouse movement problem with Big Sur using Kodi 19.2 and 19.3.

Same here, and the CPU goes mad. Kodi works when I downgraded to Big Sur

I have this same problem every time I start Kodi, my only solution is to switch resolution to anything else in Kodi display settings and then click 'No' when I am asked if I want to keep the new resolution. Then my cursor works fine for the rest of the time I am using Kodi, until I exit, then I have to do it all over again the next time.

If you are feeling adventurous, maybe try the following build

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/osx/x...x86_64.dmg

The PR its built from https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/20200
Its purpose is to remove the SDL 1 dependency that kodi for macos currently uses. libSDL1 is a legacy version that hasnt been updated for years. SDL is what is used for input and windowing in the current v19/master codebase, and could possibly be the reason for the strange windowing issues.

Id be interested if the above build works fine on monterey as is. Please note, its based off master (v20), so backup your ~/Library/Application Support/Kodi folder if you want to easily be able to revert back to a v19 based build.

Any user feedback on the PR is always appreciated.

I also had the mouse problem on my M1 Mac Mini running Monterey but I have just installed the test version and can confirm that it works correctly.

I have full tested on the new MacOS Monterey 12.1 Beta 2 and did a pre-release version of Kodi. And tested it on my Mac Mini late 2014 Intel Core i5, and confirmed the same thing that the mouse did not go to the right. I also do the release version 19.3. Still the same thing.

On Big Sur, it is working fine. But not on MacOS Monterey.

please try the following test build: https://jenkins.kodi.tv/job/OSX-64/23337...x86_64.dmg

if all is good, the fix will be a part of the next release.

Not sure if related: System cursor shows up as soon as a video is started and won´t go away until i switch bewtween another desktop (mission control) and back to Kodi.
Happens with Mac Mini late 2012 & Catalina.
