Solved Cannot install add-ons
#1
All add_ons that I try to install fail. This happens on a linux system, whereas on a windows system on the same (wired) network installation of add-ons works smoothly.
Any suggestions what could be the cause are welcome.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Black Eagle: thanks - problem solved!
But, oh -oh as a person who is completely unfamiliar with linux it is so user unfriendly: forget one space, or type one space too much, forget a capital, and it doesn't work/. And even worse, it does not report that it doesn't work...

Ha ha, no it isn't, it's just a bit particular about who it's friends are!! Laugh

That said, yeah it's more particular than Windows in that CapiTals matter and so do spaces etc but it doesn't take that much interaction with it to get used to that.  LibreELEC is a bit special in that it's a very cut-down version of linux, providing just enough OS to run Kodi and not much else.  Full blown Linux distro's are much more friendly and GUI driven in the main but all the power is still generally in the CLI.  Don't let it put you off though.  Linux is way more flexible than Windows.

Anyway, glad you got things sorted. Smile
