v19 MKV with DTS-HD MA
#1
Hi there,

are there any requirements for Kodi 19.3 and MKV+DTS-HD MA with Windows 10 (WASAPI Passthrough)? Drivers, codecs, or something?
I tried some example videos from https://thedigitaltheater.com/dts-trailers/, but the files with DTS-HD MA are not working (no sound).
With my Bluray Player (connected to the same AV Receiver) there are no problems, I see also DTS-HD MA in the display.

Or is a debug log necessary?

Thanks and best regards,
Shadow128

Passthrough audio device MUST set to the WASAPI option for your HDMI output.

If you already have that set then yes a debug log will be necessary as that will tell us what your system reports as supported, and also provide a screenshot of the passthrough section of the audio settings Although the log will also contain details on your system, but it would be helpful to give us some details about the PC, so what CPU, what graphics card? then how you are connecting to the PC to AVR, for example is it direct connection to AVR via HDMI? or are you connecting to the TV then expecting that to pass audio via HDMI eARC to the AVR.

Yes, I configured (in my mind) everything for passthrough, see also following screenshots. DD, DTS, DD+ are working without problems, also DTS HD-HR.
But DTS HD-MA is not working.

Here are also the Logs for

DTS HD-HR (working) --> https://paste.kodi.tv/umuberivim.kodi

The HTPC (an Intel NUC7i3BNH) is conneced to the AV Receiver (Yamaha V4A), same like my BluRay Player which has no problems with the MKV files.

Sorry, my fault.
I removed the addon and re-created a new log.

Same NUC, just an older Yamaha Receiver (RX-A2050). No problems here with DTS-HD MA.

That is strange.
In the meantime I installed also LibreElec on that NUC and same behaviour.
Next step installation on a RPi4 with LibreElec and DTS-HD MA is working, so the Yamaha should be fine.

I asked also in the LibreElec Forum, and there I got the information, that the NUC7i3BNH doesn't support DTS-HD MA as the HDMI is internal a DisplayPort?
But if it works in your case..

Is is possible that you create a debug log?
Maybe there are some more informations visible.

And which HDMI firmware is active and which graphics driver are you using?

Thanks for your support Smile
