v20 Updated from Matrix 19.4 to Nexus 20 RC automatically
#1
Hello,

I'm writing this one becasue I'm a bit surprised: today my Xbox decided itself to update Kodi, and installed Nexus 20 RC. I was using Matrix 19.4.
Everything seems to be running OK and it seems pretty much stable.
But I worder about the reason of this happening. I know, I know... the Xbox apps management is not Kodi responsibity: that's Microsoft garden.
But anyway, just in case, any explanation? Anyone else seeing this?

Best regards

Same here and I’m experiencing some problems. Is there a way back?

I'm having problems as well, and everything worked fine yesterday.. A patch would be great but even a revert would be fine.

It would be useful to the developers if you elaborate on the problems

Some problems too here.

Kodi 19.4 worked fine.
Now my Xbox automatically updated to Nexus 20.x and im not able to play my Music Videos.
I can't open "By Titles" or "By Genre".
None of Music Videos Playlist work.

I tried creating a brand new Music Videos playlist, not working.
I tried deleting all my Music Videos from Videos sources and re-import them. This do not fix the problem.

I'm not able to play my Kodi content.
How can i rollback to Kodi 19.4?

No you can't revert it and no you can't control what apps get updated on the Xbox.

Install kodi logfile uploader and post your logs

If someone have my kind of problems, i just completely removed Kodi and reinstalled it.
Re-creating a brand new Kodi Database (did by reinstall process) fix my "browsing library/playlist" issues.
For sure, we have to reapply all custom settings and recreate all playlists (because they are lost by the reinstall process).

I noticed 2 days ago that kodi on my xbox was updating on its own. Once finished, I tried it out. It was ultra fast. Loved it. Finally seemed to be fixed.

Tonight, I tried using it and the build I used was gone. So I re installed the build. And then I figured I would try out the build "Flix". It froze. So I Uninstalled the app and went to re download Kodi again.

Why is KODI missing in the app search on Xbox oneHuh? Never would have deleted the app if I knew it would be in the app store anymore.

Ok. Thanks for clarifying that point about not being possible to control updates in Xbox.
But it would be nice to know why a Nexus 20 RC version has been published in Microsoft Apps Store for Xbox, causing Kodi Xbox users potential problems, instead waiting for Nexus 20 stable release.
For me this seems a human mistake done by someone responsible of the publication of the releases.

I have had the same problem. I'm now on the Nexus Beta build and get just sound and a blank screen whenever I try to play from any source.

Anyone know a workaround for this, or do I just have to wait for the next build?
