What is considered a "remote" share?
#1
I would like to curate my music collection a bit more and try to have as much art avaiblable "locally" as possible and avoid internet calls to download art. However, in the "art" table in the mymusic82 database I find links to artwork in the internet (http:/httpsSmile. As I said, I would like to avoid that and have only local files referenced.

Now there are 2 options under Media which I find unclear in this respect:

- Use all remote artwork fetched by scrapers

"Fetched" sounds as if artwork is downloaded locally. Under the Artist Information Folder, for example, under artist "Kansas" I find folders with album names and discart files. However, the Kodi option refers to "remote" artwork.

Search for thumbnails on remote shares

Is a network share (nfs/smb) considered a local share or a remote share? In the configuration for IPTV Simple client, a reference to an EPG file on a SMB share is considered "local" as in local network (LAN).

So, in summing up, how can I set up Kodi to not write links to the internet in the art table but download it instead?

If you can't find a solution, the sharing solution I use does this by default.  All artwork is hosted centrally and no Internet query required past initial metadata scraping.  As we've discussed, I know you are using MySQL so this is unlikely an option for you but you could use different options for videos, music and pictures.  Kodi gives that flexibility.

Thanks,
