Installed v21 in portable mode and added my 4K movies. The DV icon is showing up for me now. Maybe I have a borked MyVideos.db or it's a fix in Omega not yet in the 20.1 release...

I have done that already. Re-added all my 4K movies when I updated to 20.1 and just for for funsies tried it again with Transformers after just updating to the latest Nexus development build KodiSetup-20230319-af1c10ca-Nexus-x64.exe
It doesn't seem to be working in Nexus on Windows 🤷

It works for all of using v21 Omega.  I've been using v21 Omega too long to comment about v20 Nexus but it appears Mike and the OP have been using V20 Nexus.  For them it didn't work until both of them installed V21 Omega.  Perhaps I'm misunderstanding why you commented it's strange that it's working for you too... because your screenshot shows you're using v21 Omega as well.  Apparently, it simply doesn't work in v20 Nexus.

I have the same issue using Nexus on Windows 11. I only get HDR10 icons. Also on newly scanned or refreshed items. I checked the database and all Dolby Vision videos have 'hdr10' for strHdrType and not 'dolbyvision'.

Quote:They will be detected as DV. The order of detection is DV, HDR10, HLG. First match wins. If a user has DV compatible hardware then that's what will be used. If they can only play HDR10 then the flag will show DV, but they will get HDR10. This can be overridden by using an .nfo file to specify the right flag in those cases.

What code do I need to put in the .nfo file to specify the hdr type manually?

You'll need to use a build that supports it -

Kodi Android build with support for Dolby Vision MKV

Sorry friends am bit new to the KODI world and even new to use things like build and Github and all but if properly guided can really do it.

Therefore, if you can please guide me as how to get DV or HDR 10 logo for my movies, what exactly needs to be done.

I have Kodi 19.1 running on Nvidial Pro Shield which is already 3840*2160 supported and my movies are on the NAS.

Please suggest if I can also get a look for DV or HDR 10 for my 4 Movies.

Regards,
Rajiv

Hi, So DV icon detection works in 21.

What about HDR10+ icon detection?

If a file has DV, HDR10+ and HDR10 metadata and a display supports only HDR10+ and HDR10 what Kodi would display?

Thanks.

There's no HDR10+ detection yet.
