I have just a quick question.

I have Kodi installed on my Desktop PC as well as my Laptop. Will I be able to view my Movies on my Laptop outside of the network if the source is a network share.

Kodi plays from a network share and doesn't care what network it is on as long as it can access it.

so the question here is - "Can you connect to the network share outside of the network?"
