Hi, I organize my full movie library in widgets / custom smart playlists, with many films being part of movie sets, but there are two things that are driving me crazy:
1 - When I open, for example, my "science fiction" playlist from Kodi/Videos/Smart playlists, it results in a combined list of individual movies and movie sets, which is exactly what I want, but all movie sets are displaying first, even though I set order to random. Is there a way to have movie sets ramdomly allocated among individual movies?
2 - When I "call" the same smart playlist from the skin's menu widget of a skin that can handle them (let's say for example, Arctic Zephir Reloaded), I cannot replicate the same behaviour. All movies show as single movies. No movie sets at all.
Any idea on this?

Thanks, but whether I change that or not, I don't get the behaviour I'm looking for. When setting up the smart list I have to choose "Group by" If I choose none, then no movie set is displayed. If I choose "By default" or "Movie sets" then every movie set is displayed first in alfabetic order and then it comes all ther rest of movies in random order.
What I want the list to do is to return movie sets (when possible) mixed with the rest of single movies, everything randomly mixed.
I might be the only user needing this, but in my mind it makes sense to look for some random movies to watch from my near 1000 movies library but also having movie sets as a possible result (I use to rewatch movie sets in a row)

I don't think so. Same happens with several skins I've used.

As noted disabling 'show sets' will allow for all individual videos and eliminate listing sets. At one point in some of my playlists, I used a rule to exclude sets and figured out pretty fast that this was a fruitless endeavour and discovered just turning off set's made more sense (and I still had sets available as a Kodi feature) Smart playlists/Rules and groupings (wiki) and don't group anything.

Random in computers is just not going to happen, but using something like playlist order might fit the bill. HOW-TO:Movie universe (wiki)  I suspect you need to re-evaluate how your smart playlists are handled in respect of how Kodi functions, which may not coincide with how you want it to be.  I use the keyword 'Collection' in the folder title when I want the path rule to pick out a specific folder (or subtract) and use nodes to target playlists etc.Video library tags (wiki) might offer another alternative. Video nodes (wiki) which may offer more rules and in effect be the solution you're looking for.
