How about we just programatically hide the taskbar if the platform is Win32. I can provide a patch since this annoys me as well

Please make this optional, set in an XML somewhere.

I have never had this problem and I suspect that it works fine for many others... I'd hate to see it cause delays or problems for those of us without the issue you are seeing.

It's a check done on startup and shutdown. Concerns about delays are irrelevant.

It says until it is fully loaded. For me it never goes away.
