[WINDOWS] HOW-TO get XBMC for Windows up-and-running, a quick-start guide for newbies
#1
Thumbs Up
I made a nice quickstart guide if anyone is interested for XBMC [Windows] and all its goodies Smile

It covers:

- Install and updates of XBMC
- Preparing and Importing your media
- AEON Skin install
- MCE Remote setup
- Using an external video player

Windows Quickstart guide

If its of any interest I can transfer it to this forum. Also I might add some plugin help with things like Iplayer/youtube integration.

Thanks to all the people on this forum for their help with my setup.

That's not a bad write-up. One minor correction. "Fanart" in XBMC typically refers to the art that directly connects to the video currently highlighted. While it is true that any picture that's 16x9 and downloadable from TVDB or TMDB can be called fanart, it might be more clear to the newbie if the pictures Aeon uses that don't connect to a specific file are called "additional art" or a "picture backpack" or, best of all, "backdrops."

- Updated the guide with the suggested changes to fanart.
- Also included information about copying fonts to make Aeon work that alot of people seem to get stuck on.
- Updated the info about external players a little
