What do people use to configure their HTPC's over a remote connection? I've noticed logmein and VNC dont work smoothly with XBMC.
Is there any other remote control software that will work with XBMC?

He is looking for remote connection software, not a remote control.
I don't have much experience with graphically intensive apps over a network, but I'd be amazed if you found something that worked smoothly.

Yes Tightvnc and logmein work fine on windows media center and meedio but not on XBMC for some reason. I guess its the kind of graphics engine it uses but I'm more interested to find out if anyone is using an app successfully.

I just use Remote Desktop connection comes with windows allthrough the vista HTPC needed a hackjob in the Terminal Services to make it work. No problems with it, okay its not fast and don't watch a movie. but for configure and test stuff it does the job. to make it faster turn off backdrops and the resolution in XBMC to 480p but for me not really neccery to do so.
