XBMC Version: 9.04
OS: Gentoo x86_64
Install Method: Official portage ebuild

Problem: XBMC crashes due to a segmentation fault when I go to change the Audio and Subtitle settings using the OSD. It crashes immediately and doesn't save any of the settings I changed during that run of XBMC.

Things I've tried:

• Downgrading to latest stable nvidia-drivers
  
• Upgrading to latest nvidia-drivers in ~amd64
  
• Using different skins
  
• Recompiling
  
• Using different video drivers (vdpau, auto, etc)
  

I really appreciate any help I can get and hope I can get this resolved. It's really a let down if I can't get subtitles for my anime.

Its a known that will crash on 64bit linux not a lot you can do about it other than try and fix it in the code and send us a patch

I think this was fixed recently. Your version is too old. You'll need to build from source (svn) to get this fix.

The latest SVN 22283 did indeed fix my issue. Thanks for the help guys!
