Hello all.. I am a new XBMC user but am frustrated to the point I want to rip my hair out
I have a show called "Generation Kill" in 720p x264 format; each with their own .nfo, sitting in a directory called "GENERATION KILL". I am trying to simply add these files to my Library, under the correct Show Name with Episode Numbers which you would THINK should be an easy task... but its turning out to be one of the most frustrating things I've had to deal with in a long time.
Here are some details...
pathname:
directory listing:
So I choose VIDEOS on the main XBMC screen, and browse to the GENERATION KILL directory, press "C" for Set Content, choose TV shows, and choose TheTVDB.com as the scraper (#xbmc on IRC told me to use this one) and sure enough, it just shows a box that quickly says "Compressing Database" then it goes away. It never detects the proper show name, episode name, ANYTHING at all. Never downloads any information like it does with my movies when it finds the right result..
The .nfo's all have the proper imdb link in it from what I can tell, are re-named by myself to match the .mkv filenames exactly, everything.
I just can't get it to work.
I hate to ask an obvious question but WHY can't we manually choose a TV Show/Episode Number for instances like this when it's totally screwing up or unable to find anything at all? I just don't understand it.
Here is the output from xbmc.log: http://pastebin.ca/1535566
In this log, I have entered the list of videos and highlighted the Generation Kill directory, pressed "C", set content, chose the scraper, pressed OK. It showed "compressing database" for all of 2 seconds and nothing else. None of the files work if I press "I" on them, and the library is still empty. Aaargh.
I've tried everything -- even re-naming all the episodes like "S01E01 - Get Some.mkv" or "Episode 01.mkv" and STILL it wont work. The log shows it querying TheTVDB.com for completely inappropriate things, like searching for "generation kill pt I get some" to which of course the site has no results. Why won't the damn thing just search for "Generation Kill" like the directory is called and then apply the episodes after..
I'm losing it here... Also, the log is saying my NFO's are "Malformed" for some idiotic reason when they're perfectly fine
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated because I'm at the point where I want to put my fist through the TV screen..
Thanks in advance guys...
Cheers
