So I'm looking to set up a small media center in my bedroom. I was thinking this would be great to run Ubuntu combined with XBMC. As I was looking at the specs. I didn't see anything about the opengl support (2.0, 2.1, etc). Anyone have anyluck with this computer?

This just has intel integrated graphics... if you want to do anything better than Standard Def, avoid it.

I just plan on TV shows, and dvd ripped movies. nothing blu-ray. one reviewer said that VLC runs in 1080i. if anyhting, what would you recommend for a small computer for around this price? ($200-$275)

You're going to want something with opengl support for sure with Linux.
Unless the reviewer said he was using an OS aside from Windows on his VLC comment assume he wasn't.

It will do 720p without problems...
