Artists with special characters in compilations add as a separate album
#1
When adding an album with artists using special characters it auto-populates the Album Artist tag with a standard character set (e.g., Beyoncé -> Beyonce). My guess is that is done used to expedite searching.

This causes the single album to be added as two separate albums. In other words, it added the album "Now That's What I Call Music! 23" with 19 tracks as "Various Artists" as the album artist. and another album "Now That's What I Call Music! 23" with 1 track as "Beyonce" as the album artist.

Since I'm doing testing, I'm using a copy of the album rather the original and I checked my original tags, and they're clear of the Album Artist tag.

Nowhere do we do such a thing intentionally. There is a chance there's tags there that you don't know about perhaps?

If you could provide that one track for testing, I'm sure someone will be happy to take a look at it.

Cheers,
Jonathan

I'll double check the original file, but AFAIK it didn't have the Album Artist tag set.

Hmmmm I can't replicate the behavior. I cleaned the library, re-added it and it added just fine.

I swear I'm not crazy.
