I've noticed that alot of newer applications show you a power down menu rather then just power down when you select the Power button. Should XBMC display the power menu when the Power button is pressed on the remote control?
Use mythicalLibrarian to make a library out of your MythTV files. Leave the recording to MythTV and use XBMC as your library.
