Help, Cannot Add Video Scrapers
#1
Hi, Today, I downloaded XBMC and added my music into a library which worked successfully.

I have various films on my computer as .avi, and have added the folder to Videos. On the wiki, it says to add them to a library, you must Set Content, from the context menu. I don't have this option on any of my movies. COuld anyone help?

Thank You

Welcome to the forums !

You read this: ?

http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Set_Contents_(Video_Library)

Setting a source should not be any problem. Just go into videos and add source.
Browse to the folder that contains your movies. Best thing is to have one master movie folder and then subfolders that contains each movie file.

When you have selected the source make sure to set the content type
to movies and then check for run automated scan recursive scanning.

But the scraper for imdb has been down lately so it's possible that
you dont get anything actually scanned into the library. MAybe try to set the scraper to moviedb instead.

Or you can use something like ember mediamanager for windows to prescan your movie folder.

god luck !

see my signature on how to post about a problem...

I need a full debug log of a session where you first restart xbmc, then when
you try to add a sourc and set content

Following your "problem wiki", here are my settings

I am running the camalot version.
I am running Windows 7.
I installed the windows version as the "portable edition" onto the local drive.
My hardware is all far above the minimum.
Playback and software runs fine.

My XBMC.log file is located here

Np we are here to help Wink

From your log file i cant see that you tried adding a source or anything like that, it also seems not to be complete.

However i have a few things you could try.
Make sure you have debug log enabled while doing it !

In:
C:\Program Files\XBMC\userdata\database\
there should be a file called "myvideos**.db"
Delete the file.
then:
C:\Program Files\XBMC\userdata\thumbnails\video
delete all files\folders under video.

go into xbmc and re-add your source. then do a scan of that source.

Then post your Debug Log file again.

NB! i bellive adding a upnp source is not working, so the source must either be smb or locally.
