Others say it works with XBMC. SO who knows.

Also I find it hard to believe that a search did not come up with quite a few results on remotes. I see remote control posts all the time.

I'm using a Logitech Harmony One for my HTPC needs, which works flawless.

What link are you looking for? If you are looking for the reviews that say it does work with XBMC, read the rest of the amazon reviews where you posted. I saw at least 2 that said it works.
It seems a bit odd that the guy saying it doesnt work with XBMC is the one saying it doesnt work because it emulates keystrokes. He says he is trying with eventghost...why even use eventghost if its already emulating keystrokes? Just change the keymap file.

dont tell me Wink you tell him Big Grin

any ways I do not want to buy it yet then find out that its a crappy chinese cat3 product that does not work properly with Eventghost "I want to use EventGhost much easier to work with". Not sure what kinda software it ships with but I do not want to bin £14 for nothing.

I sent the ebay seller asking him if the remote comes with software or its plug & play out of the box. I rekon if its plug & play that would be a good thing! Right?

EDIT: EBAY SELLER SAID THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH XBMC http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC-Computer-Remote...439e08d688

I just found this on Maplin website and it sounds like the fantastic solution that I was looking for

1- Remote that works out of the box with Windows 7 (x32 x64) MCE with no modification required.
2- Works out of the box with XBMC Live (Linux version)

One question - If it works with XBMC Live (Linux version) that means it would work with XBMC windows version, YES Big Grin sorry if thats a stupid question Smile

Parts from the question and answer remote feedback
Q- Bought this and it works out of the box with XBMC Live (Linux version) - DRBIG

Answer- thank you very much for the feedback

Q) Hi, I use this out of the box with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and the standard Media Centre software and it works great. No modification / additional apps needed. - Greg
A) Many thanks for the feedback.

Thanks to the people who submitted the feedback to Maplin.

This sounds realy good, worth trying Big Grin I also have everything except the remote and thank you for the EventGhost Config file Smile

what do you think about my post above yours, is it a good find? or shall I do your one, as the PS3 remote is cheaper than the one I posted from Maplin.

I am using a Logitech Harmony 550 (any would work) with a Microsoft MCE receiver. I set up the receiver as a M$ MCE Keyboard in the Logitech software, and it works beautifully. I can run it without the need for EventGhost.

sounds awesome but the Logitech Harmony 550 is way out of my budget and I do not have any IR receiver, so I guess I must buy any compatible MCE remote as a first buy then may be in the future use the Harmony one.

But thanks a lot for the info, I'm still learning Smile

I think I'm going with this one as I'm not used to the PS3 Remote style

If you want to wait I just purchased the one you mentioned in your first thread. I can tell you once I get it how it is.

This was the one I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...0503687949

I am using this for a bedroom HTPC. So I figured I might want want to run Boxee and XBMC, so the mouse feature might be handy.
