I just started using mythtv and I am impressed with the way it works. I have a couple question though.

Any way to get live tv to link to the library view? I hate having to turn the library off and on. I would rather setup my own media and use it like the cable company uses there own on demand.

Is there a way to change the protocol of myth-xbmc source? It works but reports itself as protocol #8 in the myth log. Because of this sometimes you have to try going into the channel a couple times before it will view it.

Anyway to change channels via controller without backing out of the last channel viewed and going threw the list? The manual only tells how if your using a remote "page up & page down".

Is there anyway to set the picture settings of the mythtv source individually without changing the view of all the other media sources? stretch 4:3 looks good when viewing live tv but it defaults all my other sources to the same stretch 4:3.

I also have my whole house networked and have a huge library that has to get scanned by each machine. Would it be possible to get xbmc to load the databases from a remote location so 1 scan could refresh all builds of xbmc running at once?

I don't use myth, but do use a centralized database for all my XBMC instances. You'll have to use a nightly build to use it.

EDIT -- sorry, just noticed you are on XBOX... last time i check the centralized DB was not implements for XMBC-XBOX (though i wish it was!)

Live TV isn't integrated with the Library View. Not sure what you are asking really. Library View focuses on TV Shows. Live TV is all about what is on a channel right now. I have the Videos menu item in the Confluence skin go directly to the myth:// source and then navigate from there. Movies and TV Shows go to the libraries. Recorded MythTV movies can be scanned to the XBMC Library. Details on http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=MythTV

Protocol 8 is only used to get the actual protocol version. It does not affect anything to do with playback. They aren't really errors.

Changing channel when using Live TV is known to be slow. Unfortunately a number of things happen when a channel switch is done.

You can map PageUp and PageDown commands to any button you like on the remote you are using. I have them mapped to the + and - buttons on the WiiRemote that I use. Instructions on the XBMC wiki for doing this. Start at http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Keymap.xml

Don't know about the stretch thing. Personally I don't ever like the aspect ratio being messed around with.
Use MythTV for recording TV? Try the integrated MythTV support in XBMC Media Center. Now with commercial skip support built-in and integration with the Movie database!
