Harmony-->Audigy-->XBMC

Setup: WinXPsp3, XBMC, SoundBlaster Audigy 2, Logitech Harmony 550

I cannot get XBMC to respond to any setup I've tried with the Harmony using the Audigy IR receiver. I've tried MCE Keyboard, Media Center PC, Aiwa stereo, Soundblaster, etc. profiles

Am I missing something simple here? Thanks!

note: I have read these forums and googled my heart out for hours and not had any luck prior to posting this. If I've missed something, thank you for pointing me in the right direction

I eventually expanded the article Nate mentions into a Wiki article at http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Usi..._with_XBMC. Hopefully this will increase the helpfulness above 15%.

The main thing is to find out how the Audigy IR works. Windows provides no standard interface for remote controls, but most will work by emulating a keyboard and sending keystrokes when you press a button. You mention the Audigy has an MCE keyboard setting. If it will genuinely emulate a Microsoft remote that's ideal as you can configure it to send whatever keystrokes you want as described in http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Usi...in_Windows.

Between your links and some more digging, what I have found was this:

Creative's Mediasource app vs 5 is not compatible, with their own remote drivers. Installing Mediasource 3 and the related IR Remote driver/app allowed the PC to see the remote. Following this with installation of Intelliremote and setting the Harmony up as a Creative Remote seems to have gotten me there.

Thank you again and feel free to contact me if you need help on this in the future fellow nerdz/googlerz. FYI, my gf was the pinnacle point for understanding the driver issue. I sure do <3 a good geek girl.Laugh
