Xbmcfreak 10.08 svn livecd's
As much as I'd like to give this a go, it's just too broken for me to use. The CD refuses to boot from my USB optical drive, whereas other disks work just fine. The installer doesn't like to recognize my USB HDD, whereas other Live setups (official XBMC, GParted, etc) see the drive and can work with it just fine.

While I realize the inability to get to a terminal screen (F1-F6) is not XBMCFreak's fault, the install refuses to initiate my NIC (I know it's working because my regular XBMC on SATA HDD install works just fine). So without an active network connection, nor the ability to troubleshoot it via terminal, it's pretty much useless.

Anyone having issues with the enter/ok remote control with the new build. Used to work fine with my Harmony and build 14. Now everykey seems to work except the enter/okay. I also have a wireless Lenovo mini keyboard hooked up and the right-mouse button on that works but nothing on the Harmony.

I'm about to check the keysettings but thought I would check here first

I had this issue as well. I installed the ubuntu mini iso so I could avoid all the plymouth stuff that is causing it.
Also, I compiled xbmc to disable xvid vdpau support.

To the poster that said they had no issues with xvid support with vdpau turned on, this only effects people who cards can play xvid using vdpau (the 200 series.) Also, not all xvid encodes are equal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xvid

So there is no one method to solve the .avi problem? Only change video card?

You can recompile xbmc after disabling vdpau support for these types of files

Here is the guide I used

Thanks... but I don't find the file to modify...
Where is /home/builds/xbmc-svn/src/XBMC/xbmc/cores/dvdplayer/Codecs/ffmpeg ?
I haven't directory builds.....

If I understood I have to modify build_xbmc.sh file in directory ffmpeg adding this line:

mpeg4_vdpau_decoder_deps="vdpau_vdpau_h vdpau_vdpau_x11_h vdpau_mpeg4_support"
mpeg4_vdpau_decoder_select="vdpau mpeg4_decoder"
Thanks

You need to add the line to the configure.in but you are in the currect directory.

Just search for this
http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=503...stcount=12

I think it is a little past line 1500 but I am at work so I cannot verify

***edit***
Actually, you are making the same mistake I did. You should actually be
xbmc/trunk/configure.in

**edit again***
assuming that I succefully exported the file in ms word (I hate using windows), the line number in trunk that you want to add is right after 1693. add
Code:
--disable-decoder=mpeg4_vdpau

Help,

Have a ASUS AT3N7A-1 motherboard. Downloaded the xbmcfreak-10.08-svn31632-lucid1.ISO and burnt to CD. The Installer is unable to detect the LAN card on the motherboard so I'm unable to connect to my home network..

Appreciate your help in helping fix this issue..

Thanks

I'm becoming mad.
No one ffmpeg folder founded in my mediacenter root and only configure.in in alsa software (search with filezilla):

Image

Supposed that
<The configure.in is an input file for autoconf which is used by XBMC during compilation to configure all its elements/modules>
how to force creation of this file?

OK, so I have to download all files in:

http://xbmc.svn.sourceforge.net/
and compile my xbmc LIVE versionHuhHuh?

Yep. I have been asking for a config option for this for a while (as have others.) Even a hidden advance config would be fine.

I imagine the developers are waiting for a correct solution than a config hack which is a legitimate stance for them to take.

Are the HQ OpenGL HW (GPU) upscalers from Bobo1on1 built into this version? If not can you please do it?

1. I connect my acer directly to my amp via coaxial but a few videos i'm playing don't have sound (i think mpeg audio layer 3 as thats what it says in the properties in media player classic). They play fine on V14, i have audio set to digital and output device to iec958 exactly the same settings as i have on V14 but still no sound, if i set it to analogue the sound works. Any thoughts? Most vids have sound but some don't Sad
...
TIA

i've got the same problem with some xvid/dvix files. they run perfect on my windows 7 pc. first i got the green picture issue which can be worked around switching vdpau support off. no problem so far ...
now some xvid/divx video have no sound. i tried switching off the mp1, mp2, mp3 support like you stated in the next post with no success. after switching off the support i got the message that the sound couldn't be initialized or something like that and still no sound. has anybody an idea how to get missing sound from xvid/divx files?
