Oh my god, I use the xbmc machine to charge my ps3 controllers! Wow, finally an answer!

I also use my xbmc machine to charge my ps3 controller. Instead of unplugging the controller I disabled the "joystick and gamepad support" under 'Settings --> System --> Input devices'
