hrm I've been pretty frustrated about this too recently because I halfed my vewing distance and got a larger TV to top that off.
With the old setup I assume the problem was there but not as noticable - now I'm viewing way more 1080/24p content and can'T watch more than 30 min without my ocd coming out and me rewinding the same scene again and again to adjust the audio offset.
Tried everything I could find - disable the auto matching of the screen refresh rate an d manually setting 24hz etc - all audio sync mehtods.
I assume it's a software problem but anyway here's my setup: Arch linux, ati hd6950, intel i5 cpu, newest catalyst drivers.
Reading this thread this seems to be a general xbmc problem across all plattforms anyway though so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Haven't read the whole thread but searched it - does anyone knwo if there'S an open bug report to follow for this somewhere?
Guess meanwhile I'll just run some sort of dlna server and stream directly from the tv - though I'll miss all the xbmc features (and also tinkering around with dlna profiles isn't as much fun as it sounds either if you want to get everything right )
edit: oh sorry - found this thread via search - jsut realized it's a windows thread
