Wow, cool, I totally forgot about this thread. Nice addition with advancedsettings.xml. It would be better to find the root cause of this phenomenon, but in the meantime, this workaround will do it just as well.
As far as I can tell, it does not depend on DXVA, it happens with all 24p content here, "regular" 24p XviD SD .avi-s as well. (Maybe only with auto refresh rate enabled? Have not tested that.)
