I was wondering if somebody can please help me to resolve the issue with automount usb disks. My previous xbmc 9.11 if you connect a usb disk it will show a notification in the left bottom side and xbmc can read and write to that disk.
I have tried different settings, hal, policykit and usbmount variables.
I am really busy to pull my hair. It is grey and now I starting to become bold.
Any, any inputs will be appriciated.
THanks
Christoff

Thanks for reply and advise, no luck still the same problem. I see after the reinstall of udev the file, /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-cd.rules, was back and the content was the same as the deleted one. Do I miss something? :oo

Did you check the xbmc.log? The usb mount errors are normally shown there.
What did you install to do the automount? xbmc-live?
This has been problematic the last couple of versions. Even in 9.11 it was fragile.
You could use the new beta as base instead since USB mount is working in it.
It would be very nice if the dev team presented a new xbmcbuntu guide matching the new live config.

I have checked my /etc/hosts file again and found that I have missed spelled xbmc in the group fuse. Corrected the error and now the user xbmc can rw to the mounted usb drivers. But it still does not popup in the right bottom corner and allow you to browse to the "label" of the usb disk. In any case I am moving forward.
