[Live] Windows Access to var/www
#1
I am trying to edit files imported into the web interface over a network using Windows 7.

I have created a share to the root in which I can read the files, but I cannot write back to them from Windows. I understand this is a safety feature to protect the linux system, but is there a way to overide it?

When I try to save anything I get Permission denied.
I know this is something to do with root access to the drive.

Can I allow my Windows 7 machine access to root or use sudo to be able to save files in this directory perhaps in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file?

I've looked and being relatively new to Linux I can seem to suss it out.
