[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
Ah, after further reading I think I just need to delete the database and rescan. Will try when I get home.
Angelscry Wrote:No problem on my side. The publisher/developer info have been perfectly imported using MobyGame info scraper.

And here is the content on the generated NFO file. The publisher tag is filled :
Code:
<game>
    <title>3 Ninjas Kick Back</title>
    <platform>Sega Genesis</platform>
    <year>1994</year>
    [b]<publisher>Malibu Interactive</publisher>[/b]
    <genre>Action</genre>
<plot>You must help an old samurai to retrieve a dagger he once got as an award for his achievements in martial arts. The dagger was stolen by somebody who envied the old warrior - now he cannot give this prize to the warriors of the next generation. Choose one of the three young ninjas to help the old man! This is a traditional platform game based on the movie 3 Ninjas Kick Back. Each one of the three ninjas has unique weapons and abilities. All three of them can run‚ duck‚ crawl‚ climb‚ jump‚ and hang on trees‚ ropes‚ etc. You'll encounter many obstacles and enemies‚ both regular and boss-like‚ which you'll have to overcome and defeat.</plot>
</game>
What exactly is not working for you? Huh

Hello Angel,

This is really weird. It almost looks as this is skin related. I'm using AEON MQ3. This skin has a publisher and a developer field. When I scrape from moby games, all these fields are nicely filled in. But when I want to export all my scraped data, the publisher and Developer tags are not filled in the nfo files. They stay empty.

You are also only referring to publisher. Their is no developer info in the skin you are using?

Thanks,
Grave
MikeQuell Wrote:Hey guys,

New poster here, I love the app. I was doing some searching here and I was trying to find anyone that has had issues with the auto-scraper. How do I know if it's attempting to update my library of ROMs? Do I still need to update them one at a time like a previous poster was discussing?

I set the scraper option to auto after the library of ROMs were imported. Maybe this was part of the issue.

Thanks guys.

Not entirely the database, just the items of the scraper. But effectively, once you have imported your items into a launcher, you cannot scrap (rescrap) automatically all their informations. You need to go into "Edit launcher" context menu, "Manage Items List" menu and select the "Clear Items List", then setup each scrapers (info, thumb, an fanart) into automatic mode, then make another scan.
Aubrien Wrote:I did a little more research on the LIRC.Stop and LIRC.Start commands and following the suggestion of a developer on another thread I looked into the xbmc-send command. I found that I can send commands to XBMC from within my shell scripts and I can accomplish the same thing without needing to modify the addon directly. The final result of my research and testing can be found here...

http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=100...count=1994

This may actually be better than modifying the addon because it gives the user the freedom to choose if they want LIRC to be disabled when XBMC is in the background. I can think of a case where a user wants XBMC to accept input from a remote while they are launched into another application in the foreground.
Arfff... too late... The option have been added into the last version. BTW, I did not see why you will want to control XBMC with a remote or a keyboard if you do not see XBMC screen.Rolleyes. I will see, If someone scpecifically need to use LIRC into this condition I will add an option to activate/desactivate LIRC.

Hello Angel,

My mistake. I've done a new test and ALA is working perfectly. My apologies for wasting your time. It seems I was trying to update nfo files created by RCB. I've done a new test from scratch and it works. Regarding the developer, forget it, I see now this is not available in ALA. Again a mixup by me.

I feel stupid now. Sorry about this.

Hummm... That's not possible to have your AEON MQ3 publisher and a developer fields completed using Advanced Launcher because Advanced Launcher only support 1 of these entries. I think your problem is AEOM MQ3/RCB related.... but has nothing to do with Advanced Launcher.

I think RCB support both entries, but not Advanced Launcher. No

Yes I see this. See my previous post. I've done something stupid Nerd

When I have added NFO support into Advanced Launcher, I have contacted malte to make Advanced Launcher and RCB NFO the most compatible possible. RCB NFO files use more fields than Advanced Launcher. But normaly, when you are using RCB NFO files with Advanced Launcher only the field common into the 2 addons are modified/updated. Now... if malte have decided to make some modifications into the NFO files structure, it may be possible that is generate now some errors and that both NFO files are not anymore compatible.

I don't think that is the case. Currently, the creation of NFO files from mobygames done with ALA works better than with RCB. Malte is informed about this.

Sorry for all the confusion. It is just cool we can use both great tools in XBMC!

Do you have instructions for this layout anywhere? When I use this theme it places all the images and text in a vertical scroll format. The grid like block layout you have is very nice and I would like to steal it. Nod

Thanks!

Thanks!
This layout is default part of Alaska Revisited skin. This is the square view for Programs.
Bah, oversight on my part. Thanks for steering me in the right direction!
I feel like such a fool. I am unable to find where you enable those view settings. Could you give me one more little bit of direction on where to do that please? I feel like I searched all over. Sad
