So I was running in fullscreen windows all the time -- tried an actual window and didn't see any change (still did not work). A few other things about teh external application (just in case they matter):
- Using autoit to execute.
- Using LaunchXBMC as a shell and it has been set NOT to give XBMC focus when launching this external app.
- App it launches via a favorite in a sub-menu of the main XBMC pages.
So quick update on progress -- it seems to work FINE when launching from within Advanced Launcher rather than from sub-menu of Main Menus (via a favorites shortcut). I'll dig deeper into the XML to see what's up.
SOLVED! So the issue was basically teh skins when you add a favorite as a sub menu use the 'PlayMedia' builtin. If you change this in the XML to 'PlayPlugin' this fixes this issue. See below for changes I made in guisettings.xml.
BEFORE (Stopping after 1 song):
<setting type="string" name="skin.aeonmq5.menu0902.path">PlayMedia("plugin://plugin.program.advanced.launcher/?70d8a32560ab0adcedb348a0fcd829ba/77529a6a01e1bfff5bc0a2796742557e",return)</setting>
AFTER (Keeps playing songs):
<setting type="string" name="skin.aeonmq5.menu0902.path">RunPlugin("plugin://plugin.program.advanced.launcher/?70d8a32560ab0adcedb348a0fcd829ba/77529a6a01e1bfff5bc0a2796742557e",return)</setting>
Thanks for the help -- hope this helps others. NOt sure what the old NOX did in Eden but this same approach worked there fine.
Cheers, Tony.
