[LIVE] Jetway Dharma RC1/2 failure (HBJC231C98-525-B Atom D525)
#1
Running into some errors when running RC1/RC2 Dharma running LIVE, as well as when trying to install LIVE to local drive. After post, I can select to either run the LIVE version or install. The install will work, but then the same issue as running LIVE occurs.

The splash screen shows the XBMC logo, and originally it just sat there. Ran through this 3/4 times, until I read I can hit escape to bring up detailed startup. The following shows up:

* Loading cpufreq kernel modules....[fail]
* CPUFreq Utilities: Setting ondemand CPUFreq governor [ OK ]

then some LIRC modules/daemon with [ OK ]

then get the following multiple times:
[249.112002] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 61s! [modprobe:1304]

I ran through the memtest on the live cd, and all pass. I also was able to install Win7 without problems, as well as xbmc 9.11 (though, no sound). So I don't think its the hardware. Seems to be other some un-supported hardware (Ion2?) on the Dharma build that works in the 9.11 release.

Any help/thoughts appreciated. If you can let me know any other tests/tools to run to get more detailed logs, please let me know.

I just upgraded to RC2 on my acer revo 1610, and it works like a champ. Not sure what to do with the Jetway box. Any thoughts? Is there a cpu setting in the bios to tweak, possibly power management or something?

I'm having the same problem.
I hit ESC as soon as it booted up to get more details, and this is what I have:
Code:

I'm guessing there would be more soft lockup errors, but I can't really say for sure.

EDIT: It may or may not be that important, but I forgot to mention that I copied these errors manually typing them in a text editor on a separate computer. What I'm getting at is that I may have miscopied some of the information without realizing it.

Any *nix guru's want to take a stab at this? Is there something I can do to get more detailed logs? I can't even boot into the OS to get ssh to function, so I'm kinda stuck....

I'm still getting the same problem with 10.0.
I guess in the mean time I'll just run it in Ubuntu.

Same problem here. I really do not want to use openelec or xbmcfreak. I like my install to be as clean as possible. Anyone has an idea how to fix this?

Maverick 10.10 also doesn't work well with my jetway. There has to be a fix for installing xbmc live on the jetway..

I am currently running openelec, but without menu sound. Still i'd rather use a clean XBMC dharma or otherwise a XMBCfreak version. Anyone found a way to make it work?
