[LINUX] Use XBMC as an external soundcard
#1
Question
Hi,

I'm doing a lot of sound engineering on my home laptop, and it's soft to say that the speakers in that thing are crappy Smile.

Now with the recent developments of, for example, implementations of Airplay possibilities, i'm looking into the option of using the XBMC machine as a sort of "external soundcard". Is there a possibility to pipe my soundoutput from my local laptop to the XBMC machine? I know there will be delays, but since it's not for realtime recording it's not a big issue.

I've been googling my head off, but can't seem to find any references of any kind to what iḿ looking for. I know there are options with pulseaudio, but since my laptop is running on Windows7 thatś going to be very tricky, to near impossible Smile.

Any help, tips, hints, suggestions or complete solutions would be more then welcome!
