[LINUX] GT430 - Audio over HDMI
#1
Hi gang, I followed the steps in the "minimal Ubuntu guide". I've managed to get everything working except audio.

I have a Nvidia GT430 card and I followed the steps in the section to install the Nvidia drivers and to install ALSA. I then followed steps 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 to get HDMI audio working but so far I'm not having any luck.

I'm fairly new to Linux. Does anyone know how to get HDMI audio working on the GT430 in Linux?

Much appreciated.

Thx.

Hmmm, now I'm getting navigational sounds in the skin but when I play movies I don't get any audio.

In my system settings under audio I've selected all my output settings to HDMI.

Am I missing some other settings?

Thx.

@darkscout, I tried following that link but I still can't get audio to work. That link also doesn't mention anything about the GT430. I'm not sure if I'm following the right steps. Now I've also lost all sounds, before I was getting skin navigational sounds.

I'm sure someone out there has setup the GT430 audio over HDMI in Linux so any help is appreciated. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've followed both "how to" guides on the XBMC wiki but neither method is working for me.

Can you get aplay or speaker-test to work?

What does aplay -L and aplay -l output?
