I use XBMC Gotham Final. I use the most recent build of NextPVR with the addon in xbmc.

I always have this error after a few moments: Tuner no longer available.

I have to restart my whole computer. Anybody else?

I get a similar error:

Tuner not available. I can't stream any live TV from the Live TV menu. However, if I go into Videos and select the HDHomerun, I can choose a channel and view fine there.
Additionally, recording from the guide works.

Pretty frustrating as I was really hoping to use this. Anyone have an idea?

Do you have NextPVR setup and working in it's own user interface, and can watch Live TV there?

Assuming yes, does turning timeshift on/off in the addon settings help?

Nextpvr works fine, just not with xbmc
Time shift doesn't help.

If you're Gotham, try disabling timeshift. Also make sure you're using the 13.2, since it included a fix that could correct this. Otherwise there is a new update submitted for Helix, which will eventually make it's way into the mainstream release. .

I have already disabled thetimeshift and version of Gotham is 13.2. Wanting to stay with gotham what other solution would you suggest?

Using a beta version of HELIX and the problem seems to be resolved.

My channels were labeled with decimals, like 10.1 and 21.2 etc. I changed them to 10.0 etc and it's up and running

Yep, this was a known limitation, and I would have quickly identified this with the logs I'd request.

Helix recently introduced support for sub channels, and the updated addon above adds support for this feature, and would have fixed the issue without renumbering the channel.
