Ok what version do you have now? Run

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kodi : Depends: kodi-bin (< 2:14.2~git20150327.1058-final-0trusty.1~) but 2:16.0~git20150709.0200-92285ec-0trusty is to be installed
Depends: libcec2 (>= 2.1.1)

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install kodi
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

apt-cache policy kodi
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
