If Jenkins builds, it will replace the one from play store.

Here are 2 versions that I've compiled that will not replace the original one:
This one uses DVH1:
https://mega.nz/file/SJsGhCBS#CqGRc7vvlw...SzRMZ6-mW8

This one uses amc-hevc:
https://mega.nz/file/iNlUwa6b#P0Z9RA_S8y...W8YHd7rMWU

I would say the first one will work without any problem.
Wow that DVH1 works well! Congrats!

How do I install it on Shield Pro 2019? Thanks a lot

I created an account to say thank you, it works great with DV and triggers it for my DV MKV,
Wow!, awesome work guys!

So, could we expect for the next beta?
May i know what is a Jenkins build and how does that differ from regular test versions posted here? thanks
(2020-12-22, 16:34)fandangos Wrote: There's a lag during the Dolby Vision handshake and refresh rate switching.

Set refresh rate switch to 1 second, this paired with the increase timeout should be suficient to fix the problems you guys are having.
Where can I find the settings?

How can I install the skin MQ8 and script.randomandlastitems-2.2.2.zip later?
The delay display refresh change is in system->display.

Jenkins is the bot from team kodi, the team cordially let me build a few test builds with it.
When jenkins builds it, it will have the same key hash and the same package name as the main kodi you get on play store.
So, installing it will replace your main kodi installation.

The ones I've compiled for my own testing has a different package name and will not replace the one from play store.

Now, after much testing, to me it seems the delay refresh has an impact but not all the time.
Movies do start with it and without.

The longer timeout, do impact and it's indeed needed.

and I see that you guys are grabbing the old version so for jenkins builds with the latest changes:

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/android/arm64-v8a/
file name: kodi-20201222-c43636da-master-arm64-v8a.apk
and
http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/android/arm/
file name: kodi-20201222-c43636da-master-armeabi-v7a.apk

For the own I compiled myself:
https://mega.nz/file/fJFhVapC#-QYiglE-Pi...8jeL20I15A

All those are Matrix Beta.

If you want Leia 18.9 compiled by SK8 use this one:
https://ufile.io/r6zbxcje

I guess this compiles all the latest versions into a single post.

Sure! Here's the link on ufile.io: https://ufile.io/r6zbxcje

Let me know how it works.
Outstanding!!!! so far it works great. I've managed to play 25 DV mkv movies in a row without issue. Thanks for the build

👍 Good! I'm having a problem where high bitrate DV MKVs stop playing after a minute or so, especially when resuming. I'm unsure if this is the build or my network. Have you experienced this problem?

Thank you for the build! Here it gives me stuttering playback. It can be smooth for a few seconds and then stutters a little, and so on. Using a full UHD rip so maybe it stutters only in high bitrate scenes. I am not seeing this with Matrix builds.

I'm not having stuttering, but complete picture freezes. Both Leia and Matrix. The log is flooded with these messages:
Code:

ERROR: CDVDVideoCodecAndroidMediaCodec:GetOutputPicture dequeueOutputBuffer failed
ERROR: CDVDVideoCodecAndroidMediaCodec::GetPicture dequeueInputBuffer failed

Maybe it's something with my Shield.

That's exactly what the longer timeout tries to accomplish.

Have you applied that to your code? Changed 5000 to 1000? And 100000 to 10000000?

If you already did, try with even higher numbers and let us know.

Yeah yesterday it was working fine, but today I'm having playback issues. Some play and some don't, but it's very random. Is the timeout increased in this version?

Hi @fandangos,

I am still having sporadic problems with movies (P7 FEL and P7 Mel) not starting. I see the Kodi spinning wheel. But I recognized that it's always possible to start the P81 file from the makeMKV testfiles. It also "repairs" a faulty P7 FEL/MEL start. You do not need to restart Kodi or the Shield, if you start this file. After that you can start a P7 file again. If the P7 FEL / MEL file doesn't start, start the P81 file again.

Maybe this helps to find a relevant difference... What do you think about it?

My hardware / software:

  • Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro: 8.2.1
  • LG OLED65C97LA: 05.00.10
  • Sonos Arc: 12.2.2

  • Kodi: kodiapp-arm64-v8a-debug-dhv1-v2.apk

My Kodi settings

  • Settings - Player - Videos - Adjust display refresh rate -> On start / stop
  • Settings - System - Display - Resolution 3840x2160p
  • Settings - System - Display - Refresh Rate -> 50.00
  • Settings - System - Display - Delay after change of refresh rate -> 1.0 seconds (also tried 4 seconds, makes no difference)
  • Settings - System - Display - Whitelist:
    -> 3840x2160p 60.00Hz
    -> 3840x2160p 59.94Hz
    -> 3840x2160p 50.00Hz
    -> 3840x2160p 24.00Hz
    -> 3840x2160p 23.98Hz
    -> 1920x1080p 120.00Hz
    -> 1920x1080p 60.00Hz
    -> 1920x1080p 59.94Hz
    -> 1920x1080p 50.00Hz
    -> 1920x1080p 24.00Hz
    -> 1920x1080p 23.98Hz
  • Settings - System - Display - Allow double refresh rates -> activated
  • Settings - System - Audio - Number of channels -> 5.1
  • Settings - System - Audio - Allow passthrough -> activated
  • Settings - System - Audio - Allow passthrough:
    -> AC3
    -> E-AC3
    -> True-HD
    -> My Sonos Arc doesn't support DTS or DTS-HD, but it gives me PCM/LPCM instead.

Do you see any configuration mistake? What is different to your configuration? What do I miss?

I recognized another issue. With the latest Kodi master Dolby Vision mp4 files work as expected, but with your build the colors are wrong.

I thought I did, but looking at the source it seems I didn't. Right now I'm tweaking the timeout values to see if it helps. I'll post updates.

Try this one. Timeout for dequeueInputBuffer and dequeueOutputBuffer is set to 15000.
