When you click the recommended button in the osd controls you get something like this:

That looks neat. Is it in the latest git? as I don't see a recommend option when I bring up the player controls. Also, going to repost my item from above as I have a feeling in got posted while you were compiling you last post and I am not sure if you saw it:

Hi again!

I am noticing that when a widget is set to show 'landscape', the fanart is actually displaying instead of the landscape image. Was this by design? If so, can you add a widget view that shows the landscape image?

Yes it is in latest git. Are you playing a youtube video?? It only shows for youtube videos, otherwise you get the Extended Info button instead.

Re: Landscape art. Yes this is by design. It is because the landscape widgets are not actually perfectly 16:9 due to alignment issues (they are closer to 16:10). I figured it was better to compromise landscape dimensions than poster dimensions as fanart/episode-thumbs can usually survive a little bit of cropping on the edges. The problem is that landscape art often puts the text really close to the edge so the crop cuts it off. However, if you have clearlogos and the fake landscape art option enabled, the skin will make fake landscape art for them because I'm able to control the positioning of the logo properly.

Ahhh. No I was just playing a regular movie. That would be sweet if you could pull up recommended youtube vidoes for ones own media. I know you can get to it via extended info, but having a short cut right to the videos would be pretty neat.

@foghat - yeah it doesn't work like that. It isn't pulling recommendations based upon the title, it is pulling them based upon the youtube id of the video. I'm not sure how exactly extended info gets the youtube videos -- I'm guessing a search based upon title. This would be possible to do, I'm just not sure if it really serves that much purpose *whilst* you are playing a movie/episode because it would stop what you were currently watching. It makes sense in the library because you might want to look up extra info like cast interviews etc. Whereas, for youtube videos having recommendations is actually really useful -- I want to also see if I can figure out a way to autoplay the next video, but I have a feeling it might be a bit outside the scope of a skin (would probably need to be an addon like NextUp is).

Hello Jurial,

I know it has been asked before, but would you consider adding a system info widget? I suppose you could make it a bigger widget, like the weather widget? Thanks for considering this.

Regards,

Bart

Turn off show discart. I've got to update the label for the setting to include character art

Agreed there actually probably isn't much reason to display while playing a movie.

This actually reminds me of something else - I found/find it a little confusing when in the Info panel to have an 'info' item in the sideblade. I'm thinking I am already in the info panel, no? And then when you select the sideblade 'info', the view looks virtually the same, with the exception that budget and revenue numbers are shown instead of studio. I didn't even notice this difference the first couple of times. Of course, the sideblade has additional options now - but if you don't notice that the displayed info has changed slightly and thus do not think to go into the sideblade, you are kind of left wondering what the 'info' sideblade selection did.

I'd suggest it would make sense to rename the sideblade item to Extended Info.

Or better yet, since you have built out extended info view to look the same as the info panel view and, as such, there is a fair bit of duplicate information between info panel information and the extended info information (description, cast, director, writer, etc), what I think would be really neat would be to eliminate the info panel / extended info distinction.

Not sure if this would even be possible, but what if there wasn't an 'extended info' sideblade option per say, but instead the info panel sideblade, included extended info items? So one would see extended info sideblade items like Similar, Youtube, Crew, Trakt, Manage directly alongside the items currently in the info panel sideblade. If necessary, in order to make enough room on the sideblade - maybe include a 'more' sideblade option to display 'management' type items like 'Get thumb', 'Artwork', Refresh, Trakt, Manage. Selecting the 'more' option could open a modal with the management options.

Man, I really think this would be slick, if possible.

@komplex - I will add an option for character art specifically later today or tomorrow.

@foghat - I will rename the item. Unfortunately not possible to combine the two - some things only possible in extended info and some things are only possible in normal info. And that is also the reason why can't just override and go straight to extendedinfo

When I open the TV Shows menu, I can see and select my TV Shows in the widget but then it goes blank and it will not take me to the season selection or episode selection. It looks like when I can get the vertical menu to open, the first selection is lock view (TV Shows) and not the view type, (for example, list, showcase, etc). There are 6 icons but only 5 selections with the top selection missing and everything shifted up. I hope this makes sense because I do not know how to upload a picture for you.

When I switch back to Estuary or reinstall Horizon version 1.0.15, the TV section is working fine. I'm not sure if I selected something I shouldn't have with the new options or not.

Even with a new Fire TV hardwired with a Ethernet cable this skin appears be too much for the processor as it keeps booting me out if I try to advance down the menu list too quickly. I know you mentioned in a previous post that it was probably too CPU intense for the FireStick but I was hoping that the Fire TV could handle it.

Love the skin jurialmunkey. Keep up the great work, we appreciate what you do.

I changed a few of the names of viewtypes and reorganised them a bit a while back. Sounds like you have locked the viewtype to a view whose name has changed. That's why the label appears to be missing in the side menu. If you open the sidemenu, you should be able to tell that you are on the view selector icon even though it doesn't have a label - click on it a few times to unlock the view and cycle to a new one. You should be able to then find the view you were using before and relock it. The views are locked based upon their name, so if the name changes like it did between versions then the view will be locked to a nonexistant view. Also, the names are finalised now, so you don't have to worry about it happening again.

Thanks @jurialmunkey - That's exactly what happened, I was locked into infolist2 and that no longer was an option. I was able to reload the old skin, switch the view to "list" and then reload the updated skin. Fixed, thank you for the help.
