It's certainly true that the items you haven't scanned into your library in the "Videos" category have a limited set of options. For me, this is usually just things that I'm "considering for purchase." I find list view to be most appropriate for this category, as I seldom have cover artwork or other extra info downloaded. I actually hadn't ever looked for another view, nor has my wife. She's quite content knowing that the items in the "Videos" category are lacking in extra content, while the stuff we've purchased gets fully scanned with covers and content in the "Movies" category.
Coincidentally Nox5 gets the nod of approval for usability from the less technologically inclined partner here.
As I type this, I can't for the life of me think of why they bothered having two separate video/movie categories in XBMC. I've just chosen to use it as a SWMBO sorting tool. That's worked well for me thus far. What is the difference between a movie and a video?

No, they were hiding from me.....
I'm very open to suggestions how the skin shortcuts script can make this more dicoverable.
Btw BigNoid, don't know if you're aware the current version of the script in longer requires the "Set thumbnail" button, seeing as Nox5 doesn't actually show thumbnails for submenus. Worth having a read of the scripts readme file - details of changes to the management dialog are all in there.

I've been genuinely surprised how few problems have surfaced - it's so difficult to test a script which relies so heavily on the users setup. Always worth keeping an eye on the readme between versions, especially the next version (if all goes to plan!) - I'm currently doing a private test, and will soon be doing a public test, of an alternative method of listing shortcuts which *should* make it as fast to show and launch shortcuts as any skin-defined menu.

Hi,
I definitely like the direction where's AN5 heading. Some thoughts:
- Can you please add FLAC audio flag for codec type "a_flac" (currently FLAC is displayed only for codec type "flac")
- Would it be possible to add an option to show more information when you press Info button while playing a video (something like custom_1118_OSDVideoInfo.xml, which is unfortunately too many clicks to get it displayed currently).
Thanks Ez.
EDIT: Cropped posters looks weird with scale. I've seen somewhere in this thread you are looking into it.

With preview 6, it's possible to build a custom menu based on smart playlist but is it possible to get a widget and statistics populated with the smart playlist ? I also did not found how to get background (Live DVD or other) based on smart playlist.
script.skinshortcuts and service.library.data.provider are up to date.
Sorry for my english, but, you know, I'm French so ...

I've noticed in a the default view there are a few missing channel logos, are these built into some texture files and can we ask for additions?
