[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution

(2014-11-03, 22:19)kpatrick Wrote: Hello all, I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask the question, if not please direct me to the correct one.

First off, thanks to everyone that brought this to us. Truly an amazing addon. Once finances sort themselves out a bit better I will certainly be donating to get the added features and to give back, but in the mean time I have an issue that makes it unusable for me.

When I start the add-on everything goes well. It populates the channels and picks up my created channels. It looks great. I go to the on screen guide and it looks great. I move to another channel, and the channel opens and starts to play - and this is where everything fails. If I try to change the channel again, it behaves as if I was just watching the video file outside of PTVL. That is my select button that used to pull up the on screen guide pauses the file, selecting channel up skips the movie ahead, etc...

Has anyone else had this issue? I am at work currently so I cant paste the log. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the standard PTV was one of my favorite addons, and this looks like it would be awesome on an entirely new level and I would love for it to work.

Thanks in advance for any/all help.

what xbmc skin are u using? there are known issues with Amber and a few others that use the close dialog command.

Also a log would be helpful, please read first 3 posts Smile

Thank you for the response. I am using Quartz, and I will post the log as soon as I get home.
Does anyone know how to add home videos to a playlist that can then be made into a PTVL channel? I added the folder, but it's a dropbox folder with video uploads and I REALLY do not want to have to add custom .nfo's and change each file name just to get it to work. I have a couple of hundred of home videos.

Any easier solutions?

Thanks!

PTVL Settings > Channel Configuration > Channel Type > "Directory"

that worked thanks

only issue is that they are not rotated correctly.
Any solution for that/

No other settings were changed between the two images other than upgrading PseudoTV Live to the latest version. I am not sure why the logos do not work in the newest version but there seems to be an issue that the previous version didn't have. If someone has a fix to correct this issue I would be most appreciative. Thank you.

Were you still having this problem? I too am having the same issue with 0.5.4a. Also I notice I am unable to download any of the channel logos anymore. The colored ones never worked and the mono ones use to work at one time but seem to have only downloaded a few of a-f. Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

I discovered in the newer version I had to add the directory for logos in settings, while the previous version defaulted to the logo directory under pseudotv directory. That fixed it for me.
I'm trying to run the latest version on a FireTV and I'm having an odd issue - it's just not starting. Channels created using autotune works. Created a single channel myself as well. Then when I click to start the add-on itself...nothing. Just a click and it stays on the addon-list. Add requirements are installed. Somewhat stuck...not even sure where to troubleshoot given that it's just...not starting at all.

EDIT: And...restarting the FireTV helps. Still having odd freezing issues during autotune, but at least I can get things running. Apologies! Smile

Hmmmm I did that but it won't show for me. Thanks for the response. I've keep trying things. Anyone else having problems with logos downloading though?

Not sure what you mean by "rotated correctly", but if you mean the play order then I would look under Channel Config > Advanced Rules > Play in order.
Ok, appears that getting the addon running (or starting) was the first part of the battle. Now it appears to be freezing when adding videos to channels. Gets to a certain channel and just...hangs. It's a PBS Kids Sprout based channel and it's always that channel (so far, it can't get past it)...so not sure what might be causing it. Any ideas on debugging? Removing all of the network channels let me get around this but it doesn't really address the reason WHY this happened. Bad data in the database, something else screwey, etc.

(I'm using a rooted FireTV, if that has any impact.)

I enabled Dynamic Artwork, for Channel Logo Folder I put the directory where all my logos are, and I checked Find Missing GuideData (Art/Info), after doing all those items I got back the artwork I had before upgrading to the latest version. Have you made sure the logo name is exact same as the channel, even making sure the characters are the same case (upper or lower)?

Have you tried removing that one channel going into the 'Open Channel Configuration'? I had the same issue with a channel called 'Tokyo something (don't remember the exact name)' it would always just hang at that channel, and after removing that channel it never got stuck again.

I started from scratch in hopes everything would work itself out but now I can't even get logos to download and before I only had a few as it seems they never completely downloaded.

Edit: Just tested and tried putting in one logo I had from Milkman's post. Yay it works. But downloading still not working for me through PTVL. But now I can move forward at least. Thanks guys!

What kind of channel is the PBS one? Is it a local channel, plugin, your own stream, or is it a community list channel?

Not sure what you mean by "rotated correctly", but if you mean the play order then I would look under Channel Config > Advanced Rules > Play in order.

So they are home videos taken from my phone. The issue is that they all appear sideways because of that so I need to find an easy solution to rotate the video 90 degrees or whatever it is to make them display correctly. Otherwise I'd have to watch them all with my head tilted. =)

Thanks

No easy way to do it in xbmc as far as I can tell. You will likely need to re-encode them or alter them outside of xbmc. Check out the links below:
