Release Titan skin version 3.6.x (Kodi 16 Jarvis)
#91

It's a hard Kodi crash, probably as a result of you resetting the Kodi db. Why do you reset that often ? It should only be used in rare cases.
I doubt this will be fixable. That reset command flushes the Kodi DB and immediately afterwards issues a restartapp command. That's a but tricky if you get what I mean.

I upgraded to Kodi 16 Beta2, no change. In an attempt to rule out modified settings I renamed the Kodi folder and started from scratch but I then ran into these issues:

3. Couldn't install Titan Beta because the repository only lists Titan 3.4.23, so I then downloaded 3.6.9 directly from your link in the OP...
4. Couldn't install Titan Beta 3.6.9 because a dependency was missing, so I then downloaded Skin Helper from Git...
5. I installed Skin Helper from Git but Titan 3.6.9 still wouldn't install saying there missing dependencies, so I then restored the previous Kodi folder where I had the working Titan 3.6.9.

1. Back to my first request for the Titan home tile as a placeholder: I see the PNG in the folder. I see the code pointing to it in the xml file. But when I start Kodi I see the "missing image" image rather than titan.png. This is after deleting the Movies home tile and then adding it again.

2) I have just confirmed your issue. It's related to the Emby addon. Tested with Kodi library it's fine, with Emby it's reversed. Can you post this on the Emby forums please ?

3/4/5) It's not really recommended to install the skin by zip or Git. Especially not by Git because I won't provide support for that. You will have missing dependencies etc. The skin is at Kodi stable/official repo and the beta is on Emby repo. Just checked, it really IS there on the repo.

6) Do you still have an issue with the fallback icon? It appears to be working fine on my testsetup

I simply don't see the fallback image at all. I see the 'missing image' image.

?? There is no such thing as a "missing image" image...
What do you see ?

I just added a new media library folder in emby and set the content to movie. Adding it to the home screen via smart shortcuts and it seems to think its content type is TV. I get next episodes, in progress episode options in the widget list and the smart shortcut selection screen under that particular folder.

That's what the "restore shortcuts" on the Configure Shortcuts main menu is for.

2) Setting a Layout for Widgets - rolling over a layout should provide an example so you don't have to back out to the home screen to see the effect.

3) Setting "Poster" for Layout for Widgets should have the option to disable the title at the bottom of the poster (tv episodes).

4) Lay-out should be spelled Layout (at least that's how it is in U.S. English)

5) Widget titles should be modified for consistency - e.g. The First Letter Should Be Capitalized ... or ... Only the first letter should be capitalized, and titles should be consistent Recently added episodes vs Episodes recently added.

1) Fixed in upcoming new beta.

2) I am reworking the skin settings and stuff like this in mind. Will be added in next skin update(s).

3) Added option to enable the label overlay for episode widgets (default enabled) to the homescreen settings.

4) Fixed, thanks for the catch.

5) I do not have a complete influence over that as the widgets are pulled from many places such as external addons. Wherever I could change it I corrected the spelling.

Fixes will be available in next release.

I reset the emby db in Kodi and it seems to have resolved it.

Couple of problems with the new Big List 2
The thumb doesn't resize properly, clicking the "Use Slim List" works but it doesn't change to green to indicate it has changed
Image
Clicking the "Hide panel background" moves everything in the info panel up a little bit
Image

The Up Next widget still showing the wrong episode info
Image
The info is correct in the next.aired.db file
Code:
'Network': 'The CW', 'Started': '2014-10-07', 'dbid': 'videodb://tvshows/titles/74/', 'ep_ndx': 1, 'episodes': [{'aired': '2015-11-18T01:00:00+00:00', 'en': 7, 'name': 'Gorilla Warfare', 'sn': 2, 'date': '2015-11-17', 'wday': 2}, {'aired': '2015-12-02T01:00:00+00:00', 'en': 8, 'name': 'Legends of Today (1)', 'sn': 2, 'date': '2015-12-01', 'wday': 2}, {'aired': '2015-12-09T01:00:00+00:00', 'en': 9, 'name': 'Running to Stand Still', 'sn': 2, 'date': '2015-12-08', 'wday': 2}], 'profiles': {'': 1}, 'Airtime': '20:00', 'Country': 'USA', 'Premiered': 2014, 'path': u'D:\\TV\\The Flash (2014)\\', 'localname': 'The Flash (2014)', 'TZ': 'America/New_York',

I have been using the beta full time and you have really enhanced the pvr stuff. I'm really liking it. As you're probably aware, that's all i use. Anyway, I have noticed when you go to delete a recording off the context menu, it defaults to yes. It really should default focus to no. A double safeguard to keep from accidentally deleting something.

I am the opposite. I don't horde tv shows and only keep a few movies that are special to us, everything else gets deleted. When I completed a episode, it's nice to have it focus on Yes - I can quickly and simply press the Enter button and it's gone; no need to use the mouse and to further contribute to carpel tunnel. 2) Also any chance of having an option to choose between thumbs and clearart in the library views likes this, have asked a similar thing over on the Emby forums

3) Should this be showing the episode name instead of the series name again (also no idea why the widget is showing the wrong episode info either)

1) Fixed in next skin update.

2) I've added a skin setting in advanced skin settings to prefer clearart over landscape art. Available in next skin update.

3) Will be fixed in next skin update.

Glad you like the PVR changes. If you see any improvements just let me know.

As for defaulting to NO when you want to delete a recording...

The only thing I can do is create a skin setting to default the YES/NO dialog to the NO button.
That means that if you enable that, in all conditions where the confirmation dialog pops up the default button will be NO.

It will not be possible to set the default button to NO for the recordings deletions only.
This is because the dialog is triggered by the PVR addon or Kodi itself and the skin will have no clue about that.

Let me know if you like to have that setting to set the default for the confirmation dialog to NO.

I think this would be the best solution.

For every setting in a skin like this there is someone who wants it a different way, it's really great that you are so accommodating, Marcel. With so MANY options in Titan it's becoming much more important to reimagine the settings menus, as you have mentioned previously. And no, I don't have any ideas but I'll continue to think about it.

No, that's ok. I appreciate the effort but I would hate to screw everybody up that uses this skin. Other skins I have sampled do it the other way, but it's no big deal.

Well, it's just an extra option. Users can enable it if they like.
In fact, there might be more users interested in having that dialog default to NO.
