I have just discovered that with my FTV Sticks connected to a local LAN but no internet connection, I cannot use KODI or SPMC. I can launch it but it gets stuck on the splash. I've tried two different sticks, one with KODI, one with SPMC with similar results. There is a short window before the stick realizes it has no internet, that if you Launch KODI it will work. As a side note, I was able to launch VLC but had problems accessing my DLNA folders.
This spoils my plan to take it with me on vacation & use with a portable wireless router & NAS, as my location has no internet. Glad I tested it first. Now I have to carry my HUGE chromebox!
I'm packing today so no time to do research. Has anybody faced this and resolved it?

I don't have Vimu. VLC will launch but like I said trouble detecting DLNA source (I didn't spend much time, so it may work)

I am running Kodi 15.2 on my fire stick, however it doesn't seem to be updating the repos. I have auto update enabled on the side bar, but it doesn't update. It does on all my other devices.Has anyone else experienced this or can anybody suggest a fix?

I recommend that you use the Firestarter launcher method.
I have both llamma and FireStarter working on my Fire Stick

Anyone know if my friend can access the Kodi on the fire stick with out having to register? I don't want to leave my amazon account signed in and he don't want to create an amazon account.
