Very surprised and ive only just figured out how and why as i know for a fact i didnt download or install any animated posters. So ... Thank you very much. Whatever you have done works well.
The database is still growing, so expect more posters to be animated :-)

Putting aside the gif 256 color limitation, since Fanart TV minimum requirement for posters is 680x1000 and many are actually 1000x1500 or greater, why are all these gif only 500x713?
Also considering that there are many people using these gifs for the Movie Poster App:

I think the animated gifs will get to big. Some of them have a lot of frames.
For now we should be happy that people, like koufos, make animated gifs and should not make already high requirements about the animated posters.
BTW: I have checked the thread you mentioned. The google drive link (first post) contains a handful of animated posters? Is that correct?

Not really a lot. Only 2 posters are not in the database. The Wizard of Oz and 12 years a slave.

A video tutorial will be very helpful.
I personally don't think this is the way to go. This weekend I will add another 150 backgrounds. The database will grow very fast. First searching in a json file, construct a link and then download it. Not very user friendly.
I think a website is much better :-)
You can then search for a movie, see the animated gifs and if there's an API to talk to, it will be a lot easier for apps.
Something the TheLogoDB.com. That would be perfect!
I have no idea if there's someone who could help with that.
A domain name and hosting space I can take care of.
Assuming that I'm understanding you correctly consider this.
OneDrive allows for a file to be updated without issuing a new link. For instance, at the office we have a zip file with contents that needs to be updated occasionally, but the name never changes. As long as we upload the newly updated zip file and keep the name the same we never have to change the link. OD offers a lot more free storage than most of the other cloud services.
