Hi, I did choose not to update the home menu, as I didn't wish to upset the wife, I'm not having any problems at the moment, but maybe now I should have chosen to reset to keep things running smooth. How do i now initiate the reset? and does it really need doing if everything is working fine, am I missing some new features.

If you do not have any widget issues then you might be able to get away with it. Only people who have activated the advanced widget setting should even see the warning. If you need to manually reset the option is the last one in skin settings > home window

Hi guys, my skin just updated to the latest version and I lost ALL of my personalizations and shortcuts. I am feeling very angry right now. Seriously, what the hell? An update to the skin should not erase it's customizations. @mikesilvo164, is there any way to get them back, or do I have to redo everything every time you update the skin?

Thing is, I have Retropie installed on my RPI and use this skin with a self made script to launch Emulation Station. It took me a while to figure that out and make a shortcut for that. Also had the sweetest menu shortcuts and now it's all gone. Have to redo everything. Don't really care about the widgets, though, and I'm not really mad with Mike, I am mad because I have to do it all over again. Some bugs are sometimes expectable, but not like this major one. Oh, well, I know it wasn't ment, but please correct it asap. I am sure I won't be the only one complaining

HI, I have the same my Kodi build and I guess friends and family's has been obliterated by today's update. Can you please pull the update offline and investigate.

I am feeling angry myself. I spent a lot of time adding an update warning to the skin that only when you either select RESET or do not read it and close without choosing CANCEL does it reset the menu. Menus should not reset if you read the warning and press cancel. Did you guys not see the warning? Anybody reloading the skin during update (black screen)? While I understand the frustration and I would like to track the issue down but bitching and complaining isn't very helpful. You are using software and sometimes shit happens that is why backups are recommended.

Hi mikesilvo, I have backups of my build and was in the process of restoring to a new Firestick, all went well until the usual updates started to come through then everything goes black. Just started my own Firestick up and the same has happened, no warning messages appeared.
Can't you take this update offline to prevent this happening to thousands more people ?.

Unfortunately the update will stay. What are you doing during or after the black screen? Black screen means wait till the update is finished and you return to the addon manager.

Just cleared data on Kodi and reloaded my build. When Kodi is restarted all looks good and I leave it alone until updates start. A few seconds after the Silvo Repository update comes through tv screen goes black.
I've left it a few minutes and the standard menu has appeared with snowflakes falling. Not good.
I am amazed that an organisation such has Kodi has no rollback procedure. If this is happening to everyone using your skin when they switch on Kodi tonight you could be getting a large number of posts.

Hi i think i found a little bug.
In TV-Shows when extrafanart is activated i i have no season fanarts when i selected no extrafanart in the season view (lowlist) i have no extrafanart in tv shows views its also disabled!
When i select no extrafanrt i have fanarts for season but naturally no extrafanart for tv-shows

Is there a way to remove the new colour genre on the pvr guide? the plain easy to read look was one of the main reasons I chose to use this wonderful skin.

Like I said, I do understand the frustration. Any chance you have the old kodi log during the update?

I have no idea why the snow falling is "not good" that has nothing to do with the menu resetting. Rollback option is available by selecting update in the Addon manager and choose the previous version. Might want to take a look at the Wiki for more information.

I also have no idea what your "build" is but if you have crap installed or have altered the skin then I don't know what to tell you. If you alter the skin to your liking then change the addon id so it never auto-updates again.

There is no setting for that at the moment but if you download the skin from GitHub and extract the contents. Navigate to the skins media folder and replace it with the extracted one then delete the new_pvr/epg-genres folder.

I've restaured my backup image on to my mSD card and disabled the auto update for the skin, so I don't have the log file available anymore. This is just a make-do solution. I'll update the skin and see what happens then. If the same occurs, I'll upload the log file.

On both my Android boxes the screen was black for a very, very long time. I waited about 5 minutes for each of them then I hit the back button (right click on mouse) and crap started happening very slowly. I just let all the warnings stay on screen with no interaction until I saw the loading box clear off the screen and then I accepted the reset skin. I didn't care about the reset. Doesn't take long for me to re-do it all. So, if you wait long enough and don't shut it off (your device) you should eventually see things happening. Mine are RK3188 chips, slow, slow, slow!

No problems at all on my Windows Zotac boxes. Just can't figure out the mouse click not working on the widget setup on the Androids.

There is a file called addon.xml in the skin folder. Change the third line 'id' to something different.

If you want to install the new version along side your old version change the skin directory name and also change the 'name' in the addon.xml so you can see the difference between the skins in kodi.
