Release Aeon Nox: SiLVO
(2016-05-27, 08:45)GTunney Wrote: It has to be something to do with updating on low powered devices. Mine seemed to stall updating and looked as though it wasn't updating. So I removed and reinstalled which then seemed to get stuck on "Downloading 5%" so I carried on using confluence when I got a prompt asking me if I wanted to use Aeon Nox Silvo. Clicked yes and all was back to normal.

Updating works absolutely fine on my NAS but I'm updating from github instead of the repo.

Very very strange behaviour.

I think when you see the Downloading 5% the addon is deleting and then writing the data. If you just let it sit there long enough it will clear and on exit from the update the skin will restart/redraw. As I have said before low powered android devices just require patience Smile

On my Intel NUC this never is a problem, on my Pi2 however it always seems to fail. After updating the skin it turns black. I cannot do anything anymore. I can still connect to it from my phone, but nothing seems to happen on the TV.

When i reboot the device, it gets stuck in a constant reboot loop of kodi. I still can ssh to the box, that's stable, but kodi restarts itself. After removing guisettings.xml i get the normal confluence skin presented, but have lost all my settings. When i try to switch from that to silvo i get presented a weird screen which seems simular to what GTunney has.

The only way i can fix this is by completely removing the skin and reinstalling it. Obiously then i have lost all my settings. This sure is annoying. Does anyone else have this experience? For the record, it only happens on my Pi2, it doesn't happen on my NUC, which has exactly the same skin settings as the Pi2 does.

I'm working off windows7 Jarvis 16.1 and I've found a solution....i use the regular xbmc backup addon and I use the usb-sdcard wizard to bacup up my xml files individually including just your user addon data folder which includes the aeon nox silvo folder which contains all your skin settings. Also set your silvo repo and skin to not auto update....once u are all backed up then simply update....then restore your user data folder and voila....it works....always important to do a full backup then backup xml and user data separately...hope this helps...

Also an earlier quote from Tayzer was having the same problem and to fix it in the end you need to copy the following directories from your backup to your new kodi install.

Userdata/addon_data/script.skinshortcuts
Addons/skin.aeon.nox.silvo

Including the file:
Userdata/addon_data/guisettings.xml

Then when you restart Kodi it'll do the usual updating shortcuts but this time all backed up skin settings and sub menus remained so I was good to go Big Grin. If you don't restore the skin.shortcuts directory it will always try to rebuild it when you restart Kodi and the restored backup configuration gets overwritten.

Thanks.

So I tried it. Still not taking a mouse click to create a widget (Select Widget 1). It just flashes bar color when you click then nothing.

Cannot figure out why the menu is not being recreated on my main screen in the manner created in skin settings. I have tried this many times but each time movies and tv shows gets missed out on the main screen. Never had this problem before. Happened after I did a clean install to Jarvis 16.1. My debug log is: http://xbmclogs.com/parsfszho

Please help.

Most common cause is not actually having any movies or tv shows in your library.

Yeah...and I'm laughing at myself as I have done this several times with fresh installs...soon as I add the advancedsettings.xml into the mix it's ALL there as I have calls there to MySql. But I write it off to being old and having CRS syndrome.... Smile

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the widgets. There are 3 widget options, classic, panel and extended panel. The panel and extended panel are exactly the same with no additional/extended information. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong but it worked in the previous version.
I have all the scripts install.
I'm using the isengard version 5.7.4-2.1.3.
Also is there a way to make the widget panel smaller?

Thanks in advance.

I maybe be sounding dumb but even after adding repo's and addons the problem stays unresolved. The problem occurred after the last update of Skin Shortcuts to 1.0.8. Before this everything was working perfectly. Suddenly the menu items disappeared even though it was appearing in skin settings. Therefore I did a clean install of Jarvis 16.1. Now as you can see without even touching skin settings the default menu items (movies, tv shows) have all disappeared. I would really appreciate some help. That almost sounds as annoying as not getting a log of this behavior. Maybe someone will post a debug log (wiki) with skinshortcuts debugging turned on so it can be looked into but... If you do not want to lose settings STOP deleting your damn settings files! If you have an issue loading a skin first post a F'n DEBUG LOG (wiki) and second remove or delete the skin folder from the addons folder and restart Kodi.

If you guys can easily replicate this why not post a debug log (wiki)?

That is for new setups. The skin updating does not remove any settings.

Can you post a screenshot? Also, just for future reference, please read the FAQ on first page (question 8).

This is now the 3rd time you have not posted a debug log (wiki). I suggest you read the link I have now posted to you twice. You should have also enabled skinshortcuts debugging in the scripts settings.

You really should not expect things to work properly if you only install all sorts of crappy repos and banned add-ons (wiki).

It's not an issue for me, so no need for a debug. All it takes is a little waiting and all works fine. You have to expect that slower processors will take longer to do things. Wink

Hi,

When I click on Movie Information from inside the context menu on a Movie I get directed straight to the Extended Info dialog and not the default. This also happens after a significant lag. This is on my Android TV. On my Mac however everything works as expected (barring the disc art and the RT rating etc. - no sure if this feature is released yet). My settings for Extended Info on my Mac and Android TV are identical.

Also I notice on the main page that Extended Info script is mentioned as "required only for Isengard" but if if uninstall it and then click on Movie Info I get asked to re-install the add-on.

Much appreciate the guidance to help fix this.

Cheers!!
