I'm trying to add something and maybe its not even doable. But I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has had any success.

I'd like to display the Premier Date (Release date) of Films in the video dialog section of the skin. Say a basic swap-out between the current item (TomatoMeter) and replace that with the date the film was released.

I've looked in dialogvideoinfo and there is a "PREMIERED" section:

but on the skin the info isn't visable.

Is this even doable? If so how would I go about accomplishing my task?

It only displays that info if it is in your DB. Check that your scraper provides this or add it manually using Library Editor or NFO files.

Hi all:

I am trying to install 16.1 on android box, and have been tinkering for days to try to get animated posters/backgrounds to work. I do have an external drive hooked to a PC with movie collection and allow fanart/extrafanart to default to its respective directory with the movie.

I cant find the correct combo settings in the skin to make the animated gifs work. I have tried placing them locally in a folder called "animatedgifs" with in the thumbs directory, tried copying and moving them to various locations without any success. I have wiped out everything and started from scratch numerous times installing all extra scripts in the help section.

I can turn off extrafanart in the backgrounds section of the "Right" view, highlight a movie, select movie info, select "choose artwork" in the extended script, point to a location, local or an SMB directory, and they work great.

This would be a lot of work to do each poster and and or background per movie. am I missing something or is it something that the skin doesn't really support??

Auto download and add to DB for animated gifs are not in this skin for a couple of reasons. First it slows everything down and IMHO not everything should have an animated background and poster... Just too much going on. If Confluence or Estuary do this then I will see how to add it but if your talking about skin.helper doing it then it will not be done that way in this skin.

Found a little other thing in the views "list" and "lowlist" under music:

If the album has two or more CDs, I tagged the mp3 and id3 tags in the following way:

cd1 track1 = 101
cd1 track2 = 102
...
cd1 track12 = 112
cd2 track1 = 201
cd2 track2 = 202
...
cd2 track12 = 212

Otherwise my ipod sorted/mixed the tracks from cd1 and cd2 in the following way:

cd1 track1 = 01
cd2 track1 = 01
cd1 track2 = 02
cd2 track2 = 02
cd1 track12 = 12
cd2 track12 = 12

But now with 3 numbers in the track number I get the follwoing to see in kodi:

If my mp3 and id3 tags don't contain the information of the cd in the tag at the first place, everything looks fine in both views:

Is it possible to get a little more space to show the 3 number tags?

Might want to clean up your tags with mp3 tag or some other program... If you are adding a 3rd number to your tags then that is what should show and not sure if I should change that cause no disc can hold 100 songs. I have albums with more than 1 disc and they display like this:

One is from files view and the other is library view.

That is a lot of work for that... Spacing is critical and if I make that bigger everything else has to be smaller. Not sure if it is worth all that just for this particular use case

when i install this on kodi 16.1, it works but it doesn't have sections like "Movies" and "TV Shows" they are in the settings but not on the main page, any help?

They only appear if you have added sources for those sections. Video > Files > Add sources. Check FAQ 2nd question under library sources link for more info.

Perhaps you should add some movies and TV Shows to your library. You'll need to read the Kodi wiki "First time user / Installing" section to find out how to do this.

So I installed Krypton beta1 and I can't get a sub menu item for the youtube addon to work. Item is created but clicking it does nothing and it seems no video addon submenu item will work as I have the Ted Talks addon installed too. Searched the thread for some info but had no luck. I just got a feeling something changed for Krypton and I've missed it.

Sounds like you don't have the latest version of skin shortcuts, you need that as well due to Krypton changes.

I am going to install Krypton on one of my Windows 10 Clients in the next days. Last time I did that, Krypton alpha 1, live tv addon didn't work with vdr 2.2.0 and vnsi 1.3.1.

At the moment I am on vdr version 2.2.0 and vnsi 1.5.0 from git.

Yes, you are right. No normal album holds 100 songs and more. But as you can see in your own screenshots your album with 2 discs isn't sorted in the correct way, because of reading the same track numbers (for CD1 and CD2) in one folder.

If you play an album with mixed tracks this seems to be a whole chaos, because of playing the the songs in the following order:

01 (CD1)
01 (CD2)
02 (CD1)
02 (CD2)
03 (CD1)
03 (CD2)
...

I used the 3rd party tool "mp3tag" to get my albums with 2 or 3 CDs ordered the correct way. I decided to use a 3rd number for the cd number before the track number.

101 (CD1)
102 (CD1)
103 (CD1)
201 (CD2)
202 (CD2)
203 (CD2)
...

I hope you understand what I mean.

I think it's only a millimetre, because if I bring one mp3 in focus I can see the complete 3 numbers of the tag, as you can see in the following screenshot:

You can sort the tracks by, not sure on the nameing, track number and kodi will show all cd1 tracks and than all cd2 tracks

So you never know if you play a track from disc 1 or disc 2. But it's an alternative.

But there's no reason why the track number is so large in one of the screen shots above. It's way to big compared to other text in the same screenshot. That should be changed IMO.

Skininfo. Service is installed and resource.images. weatherfanart.multi too… .
