Intel Kaby Lake Hardware
It looks like things have changed a bit in the last few days. Not sure whether it is due to a Windows 10 update or graphics driver update. It used to be that enabling HDR in Windows 10 (build 15063) settings enabled HDR output for all content (including desktop). Now, the output is in HDR/WCG only when you play HDR content.

PowerDVD 17 sends out partial HDR10 metadata. Kodi 17.x doesn't support HDR10 metadata passthrough.

CTA 861-G HDR InfoFrame specs.

Proper HDR10 playback requires:

1) Extended Colorimetry to be set to BT.2020 in AVI InfoFrame and 2) Complete HDR InfoFrame that provides both dynamic range and mastering information.

Windows 10/PowerDVD 17 HDR implementation does 1 and only part of 2. HDR InfoFrame Data Byte 1 (EOTF) is set to ST 2084 and it also sends Groups 2 - 4 (Data Bytes 15-22) of HDR10 static metadata descriptors which are required for proper tone and gamut mapping. While this can trigger the display to go into HDR mode, you may not be getting an "accurate" picture without complete HDR10 metadata.

I thought the WDDM 2.2 is included in the Windows 10 creator update, i have to check to see if it is installed.
DXDiag should tell you that.

That's interesting. So do you see the HDR option in display settings?

This is getting weird. You don't have WDDM 2.2 driver, but you are still getting HDR output from PowerDVD 17? Since you are routing through a Marantz AVR, can you check whether the colorspace is set to BT.2020 when you play a HDR video?

You get the HDR option only with WDDM 2.2. You need to update your graphics driver. What version do you have now? Is it 22.20.16.4612 (2/16/17)?

There is no final Intel WDDM 2.2 driver at this moment for seventh generation Intel iGP's. I found an Insiders version (I guess) that shows WDDM 2.2 under DXDiag, but that doesn't work as it should on my system (22.20.16.4629).

Can you send the link for that driver (22.20.16.4629)?

Of-course .. [click], this should be manual installed, there is no "setup.exe".

Install the link driver and got WDDM 2.2, more HDR files are now playing.
But I am still not seeing the HDR Display mode option

That driver is somewhat older then the final version with a lower version-number that is released by Intel on the website. So not really a final one I guess (for Insiders maybe).

We have to wait for Intel to release a new WDDM 2.2 driver on there website (or through Windows Update).

Got a lot flickering with that driver so I uninstalled it, will wait to see the final version.
Once Intel fixes the 3D MVC bug with HDMI 2.0, KabyLake and Apollo lake this will be great.
Still have to wait for Kodi to implement HDR.

If you connect your HTPC directly to your LG TV, do you still get HDR playback with PowerDVD 17? I don't have a receiver, but I don't get HDR playback with PowerDVD 17 when the Beebox-S is connected to my TV (HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.0a).

If you are using the trail version of PDVD 17 HDR will not work, also make sure you have Windows 10 Creators update and drivers.

100 bucks is a lot of money, but after purchasing the 3 month PowerDVD Live it did the trick indeed. HDR now working. I hope Kodi implements HDR playback, because Cyberlink is very expensive.
